Website Photo 1

Lockdown is an unstable time for many. For us adults, as we navigate our way through being in lockdown with our whānau, while juggling our work-life from home and having to manage the day to day running of our households. Creators Early Learning Centres- why we’re investing in nature

15 August 2019

IMG 8583

At Creators, nature is a place of learning and wonder. Children should be free to explore and discover the beauty of the natural world. When a child is playing outdoors, they are doing many things: problem solving, testing boundaries and, importantly, learning to fall in love with nature. This is why we have made a commitment to providing opportunities for our tamariki to get out and experience the environment. Whether it be in our outdoor spaces or on regular adventures in the community, it’s something we are passionate about.

6 tips for learning through free play

Facilities 284

Kym Gibson of the Creators Educational Trust, shares six tips for bringing back free play.

One of my favourite childhood memories is building huts in the living room. We would drag old woollen blankets out of the hall cupboard and hang them between dining room chairs and Mum’s rickety, old ironing board (which also doubled as my supermarket check-out counter occasionally!).
